E. Davon Kelly, a native of the metropolitan Washington DC area, is the President and CEO of NOVAD Management Consulting, LLC. Mr. Kelly uses his expertise in forward thinking, business organization and project management to assist clients in assessing opportunities, refining capabilities and capitalizing on resources to achieve greater success. Mr. Kelly has gained a reputation as a skillful listener and a firm but tactful communicator who gets to the heart of problems through incisive and thorough analysis.

 

When Mr. Kelly founded NOVAD in 2003, he was determined that his consulting firm would not focus on quick fixes, short-term answers or one-off solutions; instead, he cultivates long-term relationships based on ongoing dialogue, mutual trust and integrity. To accomplish his vision for the company, Mr. Kelly carefully selects consultants that bring technical expertise in the fields of strategic planning, asset and property management and marketing, business process reengineering and IT support; as well as training in interpersonal and coaching skills.

 

 NOVAD has been the prime contractor for multi-million dollar projects in both private industry and the federal government. Through Mr. Kelly’s leadership, NOVAD’s has proved a viable asset to multiple Federal Government Agencies including the Small Business Administration, Housing and Urban Development; health and Human Services and various other Federal Government Agencies; and organizational assessment of the Office of Asset Management for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

 

Before establishing NOVAD, Mr. Kelly garnered over 15 years of experience in commercial banking, general accounting services, business process improvement and project management. He has held a variety of senior manager and consultant positions with both the Federal Government and large private industry organizations.

 

In 2012, Davon Kelly opened My Barber's Lounge (MBL) (www.myberberslounge.com) . The upscale barbershop chain provides 24 licensed barbers an opportunity to practice their craft in Greenbelt and Forestville, MD. My Barber's Lounge won the award for 2014 Best Barbershop at the 12th Annual Neighborhood Awards. The Neighborhood Awards is a national competition hosted by talk show host, radio personality and author Steve Harvey and hosted by the Ford Motor Company. In 2013, MBL was recognized by the Gazette Newspaper as the Best Salon (Barbershop) in Prince George's County, a significant achievement for its first year of operation. In 2017, he continued his entrepreneurial pursuits by opening up Salon DK (www.salondk1.com)  and upscale unisex salon and barbershop in Bowie Maryland.

 

Davon Kelly provides this same level of passion and business support to the community organizations that he supports. In 2014 he was the visionary and founder of the 13th Man Organization (www.the13thman.org). The 13th Man is a leadership development program for young men ages 12-17.  Its mission is to elevate the lives of young men through empowerment, development and leadership engagements. Mr. Kelly derives much satisfaction from making an impact on the Participants’ lives and witnessing their personal transformations, academic improvement, and advancement into college matriculation. In addition Mr. Kelly has served on the Boards of  Boys Town of Washington, D.C. Boys Town, the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE)  and as member of the Entrepreneurship Academy Advisory Council (EAAC) at Bowie state University.

His leadership was acknowledged in 2010 as he received the Washington Business Journal's Minority Business Leader Award for Outstanding Performance and by the State of Maryland as one of the Top 100 MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) owners of the year. Davon Kelly has a B.S. degree in finance from Florida Tech University and a Master's Degree in business administration from Bowie State University.
